Graduation Assessments

Graduation Assessment: Literacy 10 and Numeracy 10

As part of the current graduation requirements, all students must write the Grade 10 Literacy Assessment and the Grade 10 Numeracy Assessment. This year, all grade 10 students will need to write both graduation assessments and the grade 11s will need to write the Grade 10 Numeracy Assessment. There may be some grade 11s who still need to write the Grade 10 Literacy Assessment and some grade 12s who need to write the Grade 10 Numeracy Assessment or who wish to rewrite this assessment.

Students will write the assessments during the quarter in which they are enrolled in an English or a mathematics course. The numeracy and literacy assessment coordinators will work with classroom teachers in order to prepare students for the assessments. Before students write the assessment, they will participate in two preparation sessions, one with a focus on answering practice questions and the other with a focus on understanding the online structure of the assessment.
